Tamworth's respected defender, Roger Smith, has been appointed as the new manager of the club.
Smith will take charge in control for the epic derby battle with Atherstone.
The appointment will delight supporters as will the news that Smith's assistant will be former boss Barry Meads. Many people thought that Meads was an innocent victim of the board takeover two years ago, and he is still held in high regard by Tamworth supporters.
For Roger Smith, the appointment is a dream come true and he admits to being very excited at the challenge.
"This is something I always wanted to do, and as I am Tamworth born and bred it means a great deal to me", he said.
It followed the surprise decision by Seedhouse, Nicholls and Simms to leave the club after a meeting last Thursday. For their part, the board issued a special notice praising the work of the trio and putting their wide of the story. "It was decided that a change of management was needed to revitalise the go-ahead attitude of the new-look club. As all supporters and people involved in the club will realise a superb job has been done by everyone to put the football club into the position we are in now, and a massive thank you must go to everyone concerned."
